She died on December 24, 2019 at Baypointe Rehabilitation Center in Virginia Beach. She was born April 18, 1943 in Valdosta, Georgia the daughter of Gwyn Anderson and Ruby (Trimble) Anderson. She was a 1962 graduate of Fries High School and valedictorian. Millie attended college and became an LPN. On February 26, 1966 she married Raymond Getzinger in Sparta, North Carolina.

Millie was a life-long member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and professed a faith in Jesus. She enjoyed reading, quilting, crafting, and cooking. She was a member in good-standing for over 20 years in the New River Pioneer Chapter of the DAR, Grayson County.

Millie is survived by her husband of 53 years, of the home; a daughter; a son; a daughter-in-law; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister; three brothers; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; two aunts; two uncles; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Allen Getzinger, a granddaughter, Paris Jones, a great-granddaughter, Zoey Jones, a sister Kathleen Anderson, and a brother, Roger Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30, 2019 at 2 pm at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home with Pastor Austin Goodwin officiating. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 pm at the funeral home. Courtesy of Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, 2019.
