Funeral services for Edward Harold Abplanalp, born Sept.12. 1919 died March 1, 2002, were held March 6 at the Ashley 2nd Ward Chapel. Conducting was Del R. Brady, 1st counselor. Pallbearers were Ed Abplanalp, Michael Abplanalp, Andrew Merrell, Alan Cook, Jason Weeks and Stan E. Padigimus. Honorary pallbearers were Steven Abplanalp, David Merrell, Matthew Merrell, Jordan Merrell, Spencer Merrell, Jarrod Weeks, Jessik Weeks, Joseph Weeks, Jacob Weeks, Jevan Weeks, Jonathan Padigimus, Mark Padigimus, James Padigimus and Wesley Cook. Compassionate services were provided by Ashley 2nd Ward Relief Society. Frank Abplanalp gave the family prayer. Prelude and postlude music was by Mary Schaefermeyer. Opening Musical, "I Am A Child of God," "Love One Another" and "Families Can Be Together Forever," was sung by granddaughters, and great-granddaughters who were accompanied by Mary Schaefermeyer. Invocation was given by Stanley Padigimus. Obituary/remarks was given by Howard Abplanalp. Musical "We'll Bring The World His Truth," sung by grandsons and great-grandsons accompanied by Ronda Merrell. Tribute to Grandpa was done by Janalee Watkins. Mary Ann Padigimus gave the tribute to daddy. Tribute to Dad was done by Frank Abplanalp. Family remarks by Byron Merrell. Musical "How Great Thou Art," done by Clara Jean Weeks. Speaker was Lyle Taylor. Musical, "I Need Thee Every Hour," by Bill, David, Michael, Greg and Robyn Schaefermeyer, accompanied by Mary Schaefermeyer. Benediction was given by Dave Cook. Dedication of grave was by Mervin Weeks. Interment was in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
