On 4 April 1930 Henry D. O'Dell (60), wife Minnie E. (53) and step-grandson, John Mitchell (16) lived in Point Williams Precinct, Skagit County, Washington. Henry was a chicken farmer.

MINNIE O'DELL DIES

Lingering Illness Claims
Samish Island Matron

BURLINGTON . Nov. 29. - Mrs. Minnie O'Dell, 53, wife of H. D. O'Dell, for the last eight years residents of Samish island, succumbed to a lingering illness of three years' duration, passing away in the Burlington hospital Sunday morning. For the last six weeks it was known that her condition was very serious.

A native of Pennsylvania, the deceased spent her childhood in that state and in *1919 [sic] she was united in marriage to H. D. O'Dell, the ceremony having been solemnized in Seattle. Mr. and Mrs. O'Dell made their home at Issaquah, Washington, for several years before moving to Samish island.

Surviving are the husband; a son, John Mitchell, who lives in Pennsylvania, and a grandson, John Davis O'Dell, who has shared the home of his grandparents since babyhood. A sister, Mrs. C. A. Johnson of Sedro-Woolley, and a brother and two sisters, who live in Pennsylvania, also mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Walter R. Hulbush funeral home in Burlington. Rev. O. H. Black will officiate at the services and Mrs. Herbert Weber, of Burlington, will be vocalist. Burial will be in the Bow Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Harvey and Woody Hoples, Gus Lewis, William Heberd, Darrell Loop and Eugene Loop.
