Betty Woody Wyatt, age 82, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville. Betty’s family was by her side.

Born in Burnsville, North Carolina on February 28, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Talmadge and Beulah Grindstaff Woody.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Brown Herbert Sparks (1957); second husband, Thomas Richard Wyatt (2009); and two sons, Dennis Wyatt and Shane Wyatt.

Betty enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers, cooking and making sure her family was cared for. Soft spoken and humble, she truly loved her family. Betty was a member of Double Island Baptist Church in Burnsville.

She is survived by her two daughters, Dianne Guinn (Chris) and Sandra Franklin (Ken); daughter-in-law, Terra Wyatt; three grandchildren, Zane Thomas Wyatt, William Leif Wyatt and James Franklin; three sisters, Elaine Furr, Peggy Wyatt and Louetta McKinney; and her special canine companion, “Boo Boo”.

A funeral service will be held on the morning of Monday, December 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Chaplain Bob Justus officiating. Interment will follow at Strawbridge-Young Cemetery in Newdale. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
