George W. Phelps, 86, funeral will be held Sunday with burial in Prospect Hill cemetery. He died 8 p.m. Wednesday in Norfolk. He had a blood clot in his leg since June 22. He was born March 22, 1867 to Mr. and Mrs. James A. Phelps at Portland, Illinois. He graduated from Cortland High School. He was married on April 12, 1894 to Miss Dorothy M. Gibney at Omaha. He was survived by 1 daughter Mrs. Earl Henry at Norfolk, 2 grandchildren, 2 brothers: Merritt at Rockford, Illinois; Forrest C. at DeKalb, Illinois; 1 adopted brother Dr. Clyde Phelps at Los Angeles, California; 1 foster sister Mrs. Pearl Plantz at Rockford, Illinois.
