John Paul Bollig died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, March 15th, 2018.
He was 92 years old. He was born January 26th, 1926 in Santa Rosa, California; served in the Navy during World War II in both the European and Pacific campaigns.
He married Loretta Coe, and they were married for over 60 years, with four children.
John worked in retail for much of his life managing Purity Stores, a supermarket chain in Northern California, and Sprouse-Reitz, a variety store chain serving 12 western states. He finally retired from TV Guide Distribution after several years as a Distribution Manager.
John is survived by his wife, his daughter Susan Hallidey of Eugene, and sons John Bollig Jr. of West Linn, Joe Bollig of North Bend, and Jim Bollig of Vacaville California, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is remembered by many for his good humor, encouragement, and generosity. John attended several area churches, and made friends wherever he went. He most recently attended Chapel of Praise in Eugene, Oregon where he enjoyed the friendship and kindness of many. His celebration of life was held Wednesday, March 21st, at Chapel of Praise of Eugene.
