Born in Haywood County, Mr. Lovingood was a son of the late Oscar Lovingood and Braska Mae McClure Lovingood Stamey, and he was married for 64 years to Louise Sue Lovingood who died in 2016.
He was a retired truck driver with Pilot Freight Carriers. He was a founding member of the Candler House of Prayer where he served as deacon and treasurer.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet Sue Lovingood Brown and a son, Steven Douglas Lovingood and his wife Rhonda.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Chuck Waldrup officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
