Obituary for Ms. Mary Rose Jones
The Life of A Great Woman.....Celebrating the life of 74 years of Mary Rose Jones born in Cecilia, Louisiana that was truly a gift of life from our Lord and Savior. She transitioned to her eternal life on March 14, 2017, to be in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Mary Rose Jones was a visionary and dedicated to help others by giving her time and talents to her family, church and the community. In the beginning, Mary Rose Jones was born on May 20, 1942, to the late Jean gallium and Clevis Julien. She received her formal education from Milwaukee Public School, St Francis Catholic School and St. Gall Adult Learning Center. In the late 40s, she relocated to Milwaukee, with her mother and other siblings. She later was employed, as a quality inspector at Jack Winters and then a proud entrepreneur of Shaft 007. Church and Community involvement.....Mary Rose Jones was devoted Catholic willing to serve others, which was displayed in her calling at St. Francis, St. Gall Catholic Church, by volunteering at the Meal Program, Rummage Room, Food Pantry and church choir.. She later joined St. Martin de Porres Church, where she was an active member until her health declined and she was unable to regularly attend worship service. Love and Happiness...... While in Milwaukee, Mary Rose Jones met and married, the love of her life, the late Charles Edward Jones, until his death. Their union brought life to Brenda, Vickie (Willie), (Michelle), Lester, Richard (Veronica), Omar (DaWanna), Khayyam, Kim (Dimitric), Tony (Ayo); and later in life, she was adoptive mom to three of her great nieces, Mikeela, Mikyia, and Makini Jones. Mary Rose Jones was grandmother to twenty-nine grandchildren and great-grandmother to twenty-three grandchildren. Mary was the matriarch of the family. She had a devoted love for her kids, her grandchildren, family and friends. She was a diehard fan of the Greenbay Packers, loved playing three hand solitaire and spades, cooking, family outings, shooting pool, annual May birthday party, traveling south (home), "Queen of the dance floor", bike rides, being a navigator, while being the passenger, word search puzzles and fashion expert- She loved looking good!.....Family Love...She was preceded in death by her: parents, Jean Gillum and Clevis Julien; husband, Charles E. Jones; son, Ronnie Julien; one grandson, Jamille Julien; five siblings: Mitchell Julien, Paul Julien, Earl Lewis and Jessie Gillum Sr., Joyce Gillum and Wanda Gillum; two nephews, Jessie Gillum Jr. and Christopher Gillum ; and God-child, Eugene Lewis. She is survived by : one uncle, several aunts, four brothers, five sisters, a host of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, God-children: Jerome Julien, Sharita Gillum, Brandon Harshaw, relatives, and many, many dear friends.
