William Poisel, the son of John & Josephine A. Winkler-Poisel of Westminster, MD. Born in Austria, then brought to the U.S. at a young age, William considered himself a native of Westminster, Maryland.
He married Anna Barbara Walkling in the residence of his brother and sister in law, George Edward & Margaret Anna Walkling-Petts, 1629 N. Wolfe St. Baltimore, Maryland at 8:pm early in 1916. The couple was married by Rev. U.S.G. Rupp, Pastor of the English Lutheran Church of Reformation. A reception for a large number of family and friends followed the ceremony. After they married, the couple left Baltimore for Philadelphia, PA where William Poisel was a supervisor for the Philadelphia Transportation Company. Later that year the couple gave birth to Twin daughters, Eleanor and Katharine Poisel. This marriage ended in the death of William on May 5th, 1948, due to Cholestasis of the gall bladder bile duct.
