On Friday morning, December 20, 2019, Deloris Irene Jones of Hurley, MS was called to her heavenly home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 9, 1933 to the late Ray and Annabelle Cumbest in Moss Point, MS.
Along with her parents, Deloris is preceded in death by her daughters, Susan Jones and Tracey Jones, who were waiting on MawMaw Spookie to get to heaven and receive her angel wings; and siblings, Nellie Ray Cumbest, Stud Cumbest, Jack Cumbest, Doug Cumbest and Charles Cumbest.
She is survived by her sons, Tim Jones and Terry Jones; sister, Patsy Gasaway; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; along nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Deloris was a God-fearing woman. She would help anyone who needed it. She loved her family and friends, and her great-grandbabies kept her spirits up. She loved them so much. Anyone who knew her knew that she enjoyed being outside in her yard, growing and taking care of her plants.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Magnolia Springs Assembly of God Church. Funeral service will begin at noon. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
