Cletus was the son of Wilbur Red Elk Sr. and Carmen Chase Alone. He was survived by four brothers, and two sister. He preceded in death by his parents, Carmen Chase Alone and Wilbur Red Elk Sr., maternal grandparents Leona Chase Alone and Matthew Elk Boy, paternal grandparents, Phoebe Red Elk and Patrick Red Elk, sister Nicolette Red Elk, and brother Francis Red Elk.
Cletus was served with love, honor, and respect by family and friends acting as Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers.
