Huston C. Register
Funeral services will be held today in the chapel of Christopher-Smith Funeral Home for Huston C. Register, 68, of Lake Pointe Dr., who died Sunday in Dublin after and extended illness. Graveside services will be handled by the Loyal Order of Moose. The Rev. Leon Addleton will officiate. Burial will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
Mr. Register was a native of Sumter Co. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korea War. He served in the Army Air Corps. During WWII, he was top gunner in B24Hs, earning the distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with nine Oak Leaf Clusters, the North American and European Campaign Medals and Good Conduct Medals. He flew 50 missions in the European theater. He retired from the Army Air Corps in 1970 after 26 years of service. He was a retired civil service employee from Robins AFB, where he worked 10 years. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1688. He was a member of the Warner Robins Moose Boat Club. He was awarded the fellowship Degree. He served as treasurer, Junior governor, governor and junior past governor. He served as Deputy Herder for Coastal Plains Legion 128 in Warner Robins Lodge 1688. He was president of the Fourth District of the GA Moose Assn. In May, he received the Pilgrim Degree of Merit. He was a Baptist. He was active in the GA Sheriff's Boys' Ranch in Hahira.
Survivors include his wife, Martha C. Register of Warner Robins; 2 daughters [named]; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
