A.J. Helsley, 79, of Hartville, Mo., died Thursday, July 19, 2007, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, Mo.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda of the home; a daughter, Debbie Davis of Hartville, Mo; two sons, Jeff Helsley and his wife, Bernice, of Hartville, Mo., and Calvin Helsley of Mansfield, Mo.; four grandchildren, Brooke Davis and her fiancee, Dustin Lyle, Katie Wynn and her husband, Ryan, Sarah Helsley and Brendon Helsley; a great-granddaughter, Taijha; four sisters, Eunice Kopp, of St. Louis, Mo., Juanda Prelle of Gravette, Ark., Jennie Helsley and Bernadette Bledsoe, both of Hartville, Mo.; a brother, Bruce Helsley of Hartville, Mo.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2007, in the Free Will Baptist Church of Hartville, with burial in Steele Memorial Cemetery, under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Hartville. Visitation will be held 2 p.m. until service time on Sunday. Memorials have been established to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association, and may be through the funeral home, P.O. Box 236, Hartville, Missouri 65667.
