Lillian Thora Dennett Hoadley, age 98, passed away on December 16, 2019, in Caldwell, Idaho, at the home of her youngest son Randy, where she had resided for the past few years. She is now dancing and residing with Daddy in their castle in the sky!

There will be no public service per Mother's wishes. A Private family service will be held Monday, December 23, 2019, at the Nampa Funeral Home, 415 12th Avenue South, Nampa, Idaho at 2:00 p.m. Family viewing at 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Interment will be at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, Idaho.

Lillian was born August 7, 1921, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to David Alma Dennett and Adria Rosalie Benfell Dennett. Mother was preceded in death by her spouse, Calvin Hoadley, two sons, David Calvin Hoadley and Fredrick Monroe Hoadley, her parents David and Rosalie Dennett Tidwell Smith, and 10 siblings, Lourice Dennett, Cecilia Dennett, Beverly Ann Dennett, Ronald Miller Dennett, John "Bud" Dennett, Lawrence Dennett, Dean Dennett, Grace Dennett Nelson Montgomery, Stanley Dennett DeMille, & Lucille Richins, twin great-granddaughters Makensie and Mallory Casey Hoadley and grandson-in-law Micheil James Cross.

She is survived by two of her children, Setha Christine [Ronald] Weekes and James Randall [Chris] Hoadley, both of Caldwell, two daughters-in-law Phyllis Hoadley of Marsing and Catherine Hoadley of Caldwell, one brother, Roy [Marie] Tidwell of Pasco, Washington, 15 grandchildren, 36.8 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley [Don] Oehler, Rachael Wilhelm and Erlene [Wayne] Tachick, all from Alaska, plus special friends Lovalynn and Delbert Perry who meant so very much to her.

She was delivered by her father in their home. The family then moved on to Rockville, Utah, at the edge of Zion, where she and her siblings played in the sunshine and red dirt, and placed tarantulas in Mason jars & rolled them down small hills. When the jars made it to the bottom, they would turn the tarantulas loose and laugh at them as they tried to walk while being so very dizzy. She lost her father and sister Cecilia in 1930. After the death of her father, her mother married Mr. Tidwell and he moved the entire family to Idaho to a small house just below the lower dam of Lake Lowell. She was 13 at the time. This is where she met her life-long love, Calvin Hoadley. She said it was love at first sight, they just didn't know it! They married September 13, 1938, in Nampa, Idaho & began a journey that neither of them expected. They never moved out of the community – lived there all the remaining days of their lives within one square mile from their first little two-room shack! They had four children, David, Fred, Christine and Randy, which in turn gave them 15 grandchildren: Andrew Hoadley, Scott Hoadley , Richelle Weekes Cross, Heather Hoadley Hale, Patrick Hoadley, Geoffery Hoadley, Gregory Hoadley, John Hoadley, Sherry Ann Hoadley Richter, Mark Weekes, Diane Hoadley, Eric Hoadley, Catherine Ann Hoadley Doyle, Jacob Hoadley and Tera Hoadley Allen. These 15 grandchildren presented her with 35.8 great-grandchildren [one is due in January] and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She adored them one and all.

The grandchildren have wonderful memories of Christmas parties, Easter Egg Hunts, and many family picnics at Grandma Hoadley's, and just spending time with her. She fed them well , PB&J sandwiches, homemade chili and delicious pies and cookies, and educated them more than they know.

She was very involved in her children's lives. Taking the boys back and forth to Caldwell so they could play baseball from the time they could swing a bat and all through high school. Many summer days spent cheering them on. And then with Christine and her music, which wasn't quite as much fun as watching the boys play ball! Supported them in all they wanted to do.

Mother was known for her green thumb. She raised some beautiful roses, the most delicious red and black raspberries, which she then turned into heavenly jams and jellies. She also kept an immaculate yard.

She loved her piano, and many forms of music filled her life! We spent many an evening sitting in the living room listening to her play and singing along, although I'm sure we weren't quite in tune. She continued to play up until a few months before her death. She is playing for the angels now.

She was truly loved by us all and will be missed by many.
