Daisy led a long and fulfilling life. She started out, born at home and weighing only 3 pounds. She was kept warm by being placed in a bread pan on the oven door. She worked most of her life from age 11, as a babysitter, to restaurant work, to being one of the first woman ship fitters during WWII were she earned a Navy E pin for her efforts towards the war. She then moved to Uniontown in 1950 and continued in restaurant work, then began working for Peter Pan Cleaners. She was a supervisor there of 35 stores. After they closed, she worked for Morris' Men's Clothier Store until she retired at age 70.
She was a member of the Circle Club in Uniontown until it closed but kept in close contact with the people from there, in particular was Elva Conroy. They both talked to each other for years every night at 8pm. She was always up for a game of cards at any given time and was an avid Bingo player. Daisy loved tending to her flowers and gardening. She had a 1/4 acre area of land near her house that she grew vegetables there and canned until she was into her mid 90's. She went on many trips over the years, whether organized with the Circle Club or just with her companion, Whitey. She traveled to many placed all over the country including Canada. She was a member of the YMCA Silver Sneakers Program in her 90's. She was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Uniontown.
