Mildred Melba Brockmann August 10, 1918 - December 18, 2019

Rejoice this Christmas Season for the gift of life in Christ that Mildred lived for 101 years. She was a strong person and touched many in her life; through her faith in Christ, her nursing career spanning work at the Veterans Hospital in Lincoln NE, as an Army Nurse in World War II and many years spent at St Luke's on Delmar Blvd in St. Louis and as a Church member at Immanuel Olivette. She also attended Our Shepherd Lutheran, Crosby Texas for 6 years while living in Texas close to daughter Elaine and family. She loved her family, life and people and was always there to lend a hand or encouraging word.

Mildred met her spouse, Walter while in the Service. They attended the same Missouri Synod Lutheran Church on Long Island, NY and Walter began giving Mildred rides to and from Church. After marriage to Walter, the young couple relocated to Olivette to be close to the Brockmann family and settled on several acres on Grandview Drive, land that had been part of a truck farm. After years of hard work; the vegetable garden, flowers, yard and fruit trees became a showcase for those who passed by and were a recipient of the produce that was widely shared. Mildred was active in Women's Guild at Church and after retirement sewed Quilts for World Relief, worked for 20 years in a Nursing Home Ministry and Quilted with Immanuel's Group.

Mildred was the second child born to Paul and Paula Mueller, August 18, 1910 in the small farming community of Thayer, Nebraska.

Mildred lost her soul mate Walter in August 1984.

She leaves behind son, Paul Brockmann and wife Joan, daughter, Elaine Lentz and husband Ed. Grandchildren; Matt Brockmann (Paige), Michelle Deeba (Norman), Sarah Chapin (Bill), Libby Wilson (Dennis), Eddie Lentz (Olga), Lafe Eaves and Joel Lentz (Jessica). Great Grandchildren; Sophia and Paul Wilson, Ella Chapin, Shelby and August Barnett, Peyton and Jacob Brockmann, Audrey and Chloe Deeba, Marta Sus, Edward and Karina Lentz, Ephraim Nickerson and Mason Lentz.
