She was preceded in death by her husbands: Clarence A Beilke in 1957; Glenn Leroy Thayer in 1956; Louis Robert Heim in 1984; Merritt Joe Taylor in 1973; and Raymond A Garcia, a retired US Navy Veteran and her husband of 42 years, in 2017.


Vi is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Thayer); and son, Michael Wayne Thayer; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
