Bruce D. Austin, age 68, of Richburgh Circle, Clinton, SC, died May 2, 2006 in the Ralph Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC.
He was born in Clinton, SC and was a son of the late Dewey L. and Martha Venie Smart Austin. Mr. Austin was employed with SC Security Management Company. He was a US Navy veteran of 20 years service having served in Vietnam.
Surviving are his wife, Blanche Manore Austin of the home; four sons, Jeff Weeman of Ida, MI, Bernard Shimel and Tim Shimel, both of Cross, SC, and Richard Shimel of Bennettsville, SC; three daughters, Tina Sims of Yorktown, VA, Jill Calkins of Newport, MI, and Renee Labonte of Lady Lake, FL; two sisters, Erline Mitchum of Clinton, SC, and Brenda Jenkins of Whitmire, SC; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
