Emma Geneva Crockett, 80, of Galax, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015, in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital. She was born in Virginia on Nov. 21, 1934, to Sterling Joseph and Cora Elizabeth Hanks Alexander. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Leo Crockett Sr.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ramona Kay and Scotty Lee Hylton of Floyd County; sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky Alexander of Woodlawn; Eugene (Kelly) Leo Crockett Jr. of Marion, Curtis Wesley Crockett of Hillsville, Robert Douglas and Terri Crockett and Sterling (Teddy) Cecil Crockett, all of Galax; sister, Goldie Payne of Galax; brothers and sister-in-law, Joseph and Mildred Alexander of Rural Retreat and Waymon and Charlotte Alexander of Hiwassee; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held today, Friday, May 22, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Goodson officiating. Burial will follow in the Alexander Family Cemetery.
