Luman Bartholomew married in Waddington, St. Lawrence, New York 14 May 1812 to Lydia Daniels (1791-1879).
Captain Bartholomew commanded a company in the war of 1812 as did his father. He was a farmer at Waddington and Potsdam, New York, moving to McHenry County, Illinois in 1842. He purchased 40 acres of land in the SW 1/4 of the NW 14 of Section 35, now a part of the city of McHenry. He likely was buried on his land there.
