Mildred grew up near Vassar and had lived in rural Lyndon until moving into Lyndon. She graduated from Lyndon High School in 1937, was a Homemaker and Farm Wife and also worked as a CNA at Hilltop Nursing Home in Lyndon. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Community Church.
On April 15, 1941, Mildred was married to Kenneth McCreight at her parents home near Vassar.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth on August 8, 1990; by her parents, Vivian and Verna; her four brothers, Glen, Leonard, Danny and Harold Brecheisen; and her four sisters, Wilma Brecheisen, Dorothy Lewis, Esther Johnson and Mabel Athon.
Mildred is survived by her two daughters, Ardis Ann (Clyde) Diehl of Lyndon and Arlene "Aggie" (Rick) Hurt of Prescott, Arizona; her two brothers, Wallace Brecheisen of Elephant Butte, New Mexico and Larry Brecheisen of Conroe, Texas; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mildred will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 18 at the Mt. Pleasant Community Church southeast of Lyndon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Vassar Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Gideon's International or Samaritan's Purse (for Operation Christmas Child), sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
