A.C. became a resident in Saginaw, Michigan in 1951. He was married to Mable Kimble for 64 years. She preceded him in death. He was a retiree of Grey Iron Metal Casting Plant GM and a member of UAW Local 668. He had a special love for his Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church family where he’d been a dedicated member for a number of years.
Mr. Kimble leaves to cherish many memories, six children, Frances Sledge (Charles), Mary Matthew, Debbie Baskin (Richard) all of Saginaw, Lamar Kimble (Barbara), Sugarland, TX, Allen Kimble, Detroit, MI and Tony Kimble, Saginaw; 11 grandchildren, Arrick Jackson, Big Rapids, MI, Lamar Kimble, Jr., Quincy Morton and Cameron Kimble, all of Houston, TX, Kedrick and Kayvon Sledge, Bwana Jackson and Vontrail Bonner all of Atlanta, GA, Charles Anthony Sledge, Saginaw, Ebonee Davis, Nashville, TN and Heaven Baskin of Saginaw; 14 great-grandchildren. A.C. was the last brother that was left to protect his sisters; eight sisters, Josephine Kellum, Dorothy Mae Sparks, Sadie Williams, Geneva Matent and Bernice Johnson, Chicago, IL, Hattie Yates and Deloris Thompson both of Atlanta, GA, and Bettie White, Chicago, IL; a special cousin, Bennie Drinkwater that was like a brother; nieces, nephews and Jackie Ray, Rev. Doris Murray and Patricia Steward whom he considered daughters, other relatives and friends, including his best friend, James “Red” Brewer, close friends, Lloyd (Carolyn) Riley, Evelyn Wettlin, Umria (Erma) Johnson, Patsy Willis, Annie lee Jackson, Charlene Johnson, Virginia Carroll and Willis “Blood” Youngblood, his friends from Ojibway Island.
A.C. was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mable Kimble; his parents, Adeline Hayes and Ben Willie Kimble; brothers, Lloyd Terry, Bob Henry, Terry, and G.L. Kimble, Roosevelt McKinley and La’Farris Kimble; one sister, Odessa Carroll.
