Mr. Bloodworth was a native and lived in Milledgeville most of his life. He was an accomplished singer and songwriter in New York before moving back home to Milledgeville where he worked for Grimes Plumbing for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edgar and Nannie Sue Johnson Bloodworth, his stepmother, Essie Lane Bloodworth, three sisters, Catherine Grimes, Margie Jones and Louise Gremli, two brothers, Sidney Lee Bloodworth and Otis Woods Bloodworth. He served four years in the U.S.Army.
Survivors include two daughters, Maria Shelton, and Andrea Grimes both of Milledgeville; son, Raymond Patrick Bloodworth, Milledgeville; sister, Linda Tanner; brother Pierce Bloodworth, both of Milledgeville; stepbrother, Gaither Lane of Warner Robins, stepsister, Mary Hitchcock of Milledgeville; six grandchildren, Christopher Crowe, Ronnie Crowe, Jessica Bloodworth, Cory Grimes, Jody Grimes, Ashley Grimes; one great grandson, Logan Crow.
