Arvilla A. Henrie

On Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother passed from her life here on earth and went to join her loving husband, her parents, and brothers.

She was 97-years-old, born on February 18, 1901, to Minnie Hatch and Adelbert Burnham in Woods Cross, Ut. She married our father, William (Bill) Henrie in 1925. He preceded her in death in 1968.

Mom lived her early life on the farm her father operated in West Bountiful after which she lived in Los Angeles and worked for awhile designing hats for a milliner until she married her husband, Bill. At that time she moved to Tetonia, Idaho, where they operated a sheep ranch and then later moved in to Driggs, Idaho. In 1944 the family moved to the Meadows Housing Complex in Bountiful. She won the prize for naming this development. Her main interest was her family and then her oil painting which she took up after they were raised and it became the focal point of her life until her sight made it impossible for her to continue. She also loved the outdoors looking for rocks and artifacts and even went motorcycling with a friend at times. In 1992 she was one of the fist residents to move in the Apply Tree Retirement Home in Kaysville living there until just about a year ago when she moved to the South Davis Community Hospital in Bountiful.

She is survived by her five children, Wanda (Ray) Jorgensen of Bountiful and Mesa, AZ; Donna Rae Parkin, Bountiful; Winona Johnson and Dell Henrie both of Roy; and James (Kathie) Henrie of Carmichael, CA; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services under the direction of Lindquist Bountiful Mortuary, 727 No. 400 East on Monday, March 2, at 11 a.m. Friends may call Sunday evening, March 1st from 6-7 p.m. and on e hour prior to services on Monday. Interment Bountiful Cemetery.

"Such quiet sleep has come to her: the Springs and Falls shall pass. Nor will she know if there be snow, or daisies in the grass. And down her dream there drifts no sound, though winds may sob and stir. On the still breast of peace she rests, and we are glad for her. She asks no gift and she minds not any foot that fares her way. Unheedingly, life passes by: Such quiet sleep is hers' today".
