June Davis, 95, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro, TX. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016, at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard, TX, with Rev. Mike McReynolds of Church on the Hill officiating.

June was born June 12, 1921 to Arthur and Maybell (Arver) Alfter in St. Paul, Minnesota. She grew up in Los Angeles, California and moved to Texas in the Early 1940's. She married Walter Davis on December 17, 1938; he preceded her in death on April 6, 2001. June worked as a seamstress for Wood of Texas, Town Square Furniture, and Malouf Manufacturing until her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister. She is survived by her children: Ruth Landrith of West, Alan Davis and wife Doris, Nancy Walker and husband, Denny, and James Davis all of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
