William Raymond Chinn, of Purcellville, VA, died December 7, 2019 in Heritage Hall of Leesburg at the age of 90. Bill was born July 8, 1929 in Haymarket, VA to the late Raymond and Mary Chinn. He graduated from Lovettsville High School, served his country in the United States Navy, worked in management at Safeway for over 31 years, served as deputy for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Department and was a security officer at the FFA in Leesburg.
Bill is survived by 3 grandchildren Cathy Carbaugh, Judy Brown, and Billy Utterback; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; nephew Mike Bridge and niece Susan Maggard; and close friend Sonny Dickens. Bill was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Jean McDaniel Utterback Chinn and a granddaughter, Debra Utterback.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 17th at Hall Funeral Home of Purcellville, VA from 12-1p.m. A service will begin at 1 p.m. with interment following in Hillsboro Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Christian Community at St. Paul’s, 12623 Harpers Ferry Road, Hillsboro, VA 20132.
