Peggy ‘Peg’ A. Rohn, 83, of Rockbridge Township, died Saturday, December 07, 2019 at Schmitt Woodland Hills. She was born on June 25, 1936 the daughter of Richard L. and Violet E. (Taylor) Powell. Peg graduated from Blue River High School in 1954. After high school she attended Richland County Normal School. She taught at Boaz and Sextonville Schools. Peg married Bud Rohn in 1957. She went back to teaching in Horse Creek School after her three children started school. While teaching she attended UW- Platteville for her bachelor’s degree. She attended UW- Madison for her master’s to become a High School Guidance Counselor. In 1975 her fourth child Daryn was born. Peg enjoyed being a Counselor at Richland Center High School for over 20 years and retired in 1994. She was a board member at Passages for over 25 years.
Peg is survived by her three children: DeAnne (Fred) Kepler of rural Richland Center, Duane (Sherri) Rohn of Blue River, Douglas (Rhonda) Rohn of Madison; eight grandchildren: Josh (Beth) Kepler, Amanda (Douglas) Wallerman, Luke (Samantha) Kepler, Adam (Amy) Rohn, Andy (Megan Wilker) Rohn, Taylor, Emily, and Claire Rohn; 11 great-grandchildren: Daryn, Avery, Finley, and Allisyn Kepler, Makenna and Jaycee Kepler, Charles and Madalyn Wallerman, Sydney Rohn, Lilly and Violet Rohn; sister, Priscilla (Lyle) Williams, special family friends the Nick Perna family, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Peg was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud, and son Daryn.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with Reverend Craig Peach officiating. Burial will be held at the Richland Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in Peg’s name be directed to Passages, Lone Rock Community Congregational Church or Schmitt Woodland Hills. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
