Mrs. Tietjens was born October 31, 1887, daughter of Weibke and William Arp of near Indian Grove. She was married Oct 31, 1911, to George H. Tietjens. Her entire life was spent in the Indian Grove vicinity except for one year when she and Mr. Tietjens lived in the Brunswick bottoms. Last year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She was a member for 25 years of the Davis Foggin WPFA.
Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Wallace Kahler, Mrs. Charles Kahler; four sons, Ernest of Cole Camp, Missouri, Raymond, Vernon and Junior of Brunswick; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. One son, Rudolph, preceded her in death. She leaves also a brother, Ernest Arp, and a sister, Mrs. Freda Henning.
Funeral Services were held Monday at the McCurry Funeral Home, the Rev. Lawrence Hern officiating. Burial was in the German Cemetery at Indian Grove.
