A former Louisiana public school teacher and a resident and native of New Orleans, she died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2000, at her home. She was 93.
Visiting was at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1329 Jackson Ave., New Orleans, from 10 a.m. Saturday until religious services at 11 a.m. Interment was in Metairie Cemetery.
Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia L. Dekker and John H. Dekker; a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick E. Lind Jr., M.D., and Elizabeth L. Lind; a sister, Marion C. Mead; three grandchildren, Frederick E. Lind III, David D. Lind and Janie L. Pogue; and four great-grandchildren, Gregory Allie Pogue, Elizabeth L. Pogue, Alice E. Lind and Katherine L. Lind.
Preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Everard Lind. parents, Janie Hughes Mead and Reginald Parker Mead; two brothers, Parker Mead and Herbert Mead; and a sister, Evelyn M. Bartet. She was a longtime parishioner of Trinity Episcopal Church, a member of The Orleans Club, Metairie Country Club and Southern Yacht Club. In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
