Jim Joe Pitt, son of the late Robert E. Pitt and Mildred Jewel (Ham) Pitt was born May 16, 1950 in Poplar Bluff, Mo., and departed this life on December 6, 2019 at his residence in Van Buren, Mo. He had attained the age of sixty-nine years, six months and twenty-one days.
Jim had resided in Van Buren for most of his life. He was of the Christian faith. He was the baby of the family and spoiled like hell. His Dad taught him never let a man go hungry or homeless. He was a loyal friend and a true patriot. He was loved by many and blessed by a very supportive family.
On February 12, 1997, he was united in marriage to Earline Kay Morris. She preceded him in death on September 13, 2016.
He is survived by two daughters, Brook Hart and husband Marc of Cross Timbers, Mo., and Jimmie Jo Pitt of Muskogee, Ok; three sons, Robert E. Pitt of Oklahoma City, Ok., Josh Morris of Piggott, Ark., and William Morris of Van Buren, Mo., one brother, Robert S. Pitt and wife June of Poplar Bluff, Mo; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents and his wife Earline Pitt, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bettie Sue Raulston and Frances Rae Strickland; two brother-in-laws, Charles Raulston and Jerry Strickland.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at the McSpadden Funeral Home in Van Buren, Mo. with the Funeral Services being held Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel Rev. Dave Truncone will be Officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
