William Graham Elliott, grand-son of the late Commodore Jesse Duncan Elliott, who was second in command to Admiral Perry at the Battle of Lake Erie in 1912, and son of the late General W. L. Elliott, U.S.A., died Saturday evening at his home, 256 Woodworth Avenue. He was in his 73rd year. He had been suffering with heart trouble for the past nine years and death was caused by that illness. He was born in Carlisle, Pa., April 25, 1852, and spent the early part of his life there. Carlisle was the home and birthplace of his father. He was a graduate of the Carlisle University there. He has been employed in the Alexander Smith and Sons Carpet Mills here for the past 32 years. He went to work Friday morning as usual, and became ill while at work in the tapestry mill. He was taken to his home and treated by Dr. Robert H. Shanahan and Dr. Morris. He died within 24 hours after being stricken. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, and for a number of years of the vestry, and treasurer of the church. He was a member of Rising Star Lodge, F. and A.M., and the Theta Delta Chi fraternity of Carlisle University. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Violetta Elliott, two daughters, Mrs. Alice Vaughan Kodak, Miss Harriot Elliott, a stepson, William T. Preston, and two children by a former marriage, Jesse D. Elliott and Mrs. Frances Myrick Gose of San Diego, Cal. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock from Christ Episcopal Church. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. The Masonic services will be held this evening at 8 o'clock.
