James W. Featherston, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 5, 2019 at Countryside Meadows in Avon. He was born on February 1, 1926 in Brooklyn, IN to the late Walter Featherston and Hazel (Hendrickson) Featherston.

James was a graduate of Martinsville High School. He married Arlene Matney on June 9, 1945; she survives. James worked for Indianapolis Power and Light for 42 years in various positions, most recently in the billing and collections department. He was also a faithful member of the Brooklyn Christian Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and traveling with his wife out west exploring the western United States including Colorado, Wyoming and Las Vegas, Nevada where they wintered together for several years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Daniel Featherston; brother, Harold Featherston; and two sisters, Estelle Bayliff and Mary Williams.

James is survived by his wife; one son; one daughter; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville with visitation on Monday from 12 noon until the services at 2 PM. Burial will follow the services in Mooresville Cemetery.
