Funeral services for Deloris Gray Swinney will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2019 in the Temple Baptist Church, 122 Martin Luther King Drive, DeRidder, Louisiana with Reverend Frank Ott officiating.
Committal service will follow in the Dry Creek Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Deloris, 73, of DeRidder, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 30, 2019 in her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born January 22, 1946 in LA Mesa, California to the union of Carl Curtis Gray and Dorila (Hancock) Gray.
She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, homemaker, mother, sister, grandmother, great-great mother, aunt, cousin and friend.
She is preceded in death by her husband, H.D. Swinney; parents, Carl and Dorila Gray; one brother, Jerry Gray; and one sister, Shirley Gray.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are three daughters, Alicia Motley (Mike) of Azle, Texas, Elizabeth Swinney of Azle, Texas and Toni Giles (Robert Sr.) of DeRidder; two sons, Ray Johnson (Connie) of Portland, Oregon and David Wayne Johnson of Azle, Texas; one brother, Sam Gray of Fort Worth, Texas; eighteen grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be James Nash, Robert Giles Jr., Curtis Giles, Travis Istre, Blake Rodriguez and Justin Groggs. Honorary pallbearer to serve will be Gavin Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held in the Temple Baptist Church on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., then on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. in the church.
