Robert Edwin Hetrick, 91, of Meyersdale, PA, died Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Meyersdale Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Meyersdale, PA.
Born April 29, 1927, in Summit Mills, PA, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Esther (Nicholson) Hetrick. He is also preceded in death by one daughter, Diann Legas and one sister, Margaret George.
Mr. Hetrick was an auto mechanic teacher for Northern Garrett High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Robert was previously employed as a service manager for Baker Chevrolet, Meyersdale and co-owner of Grantsville Gulf Station. He was a member of St. Paul Wilhelm Church and the American Legion.
Robert is survived by his wife, Inez Margaret (Lewis) Hetrick; one daughter, Barbara S. (Wayne) Oester, Meyersdale; one son-in-law, Bill Legas, Meyersdale; one grandson, Derrick Oester; and four nephews, Greg, David, Mark and Barry.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury, PA, Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 12-4 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Tommy Holliday officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul Wilhelm Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Earl H. Opel American Legion Post 459.
