Charles is the loving husband of fifty six years to Janina (nee Wallace) Pronger, devoted son to the late Emery and Bessie Pronger, beloved father to Andrew Pronger, Michael (Tiffany) Cozzi, and Thomas Golub; proud grandfather to Madelynn, Michael Jr., Charles, Abram, Bradley, Koty, Liam, Emery, and Haylee; cherished brother to the late Noel (the late Ellamae) Pronger, Rose Bourgeois, and Maredith (Richard) Bartle; honored Godfather to Stacy (Ron) Hagan.
Charles honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and then re-enlisted in the United States Air Force. He and his wife opened their hearts and home to many foster children for years. He was a faithful member of Christ Memorial United Church of Christ in Blue Island, and a member of the American Legion Post #50 of Blue Island. Charles was known as the "Dog Whisperer" at the Blue Island Bark Park.
Visitation will be Friday, December 6, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home (11300 S. Central Ave; Oak Lawn, IL 60453) and again on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral at 11:00 am at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made towards CaringPatriots.org or Christ Memorial United Church of Christ
