Murray E. Draper passed away of natural causes on June 8, 2003.

He was born in Decatur, Alabama and then moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. There he joined the U.S. Navy and enjoyed a 31 year career. During that time he was Commander of the USS Hammerburg and the USS Atka.

Survivors: wife, Mari, Sandy; daughters, Pearlene Sperry (Lorin), Salt Lake City; Denise Nelms, Menlo Park, California; Murayna Gilbert, Danville, California; three grandchildren; sister-in-law, Odene Draper; also nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

A final tribute will be paid to Murray on Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Fort Douglas Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah.
