While stationed in Camp Lejeune he met his first wife Estelle Wiggins and they were married in 1959. After leaving the marines David began work for IBM. In 1985 David married Marilyn Kaye Klohr and they enjoyed 34 years of marriage. After “retiring” from IBM in 1987, David trained and worked as an airplane mechanic, park ranger, machinist and assembly operator, and drove a bus for seniors.

David was generous with his time and talents and often found himself helping others. He was a skilled mechanic and to his friends and family he could fix anything. David enjoyed a lifetime of learning and had a private pilot’s license and training in aviation maintenance. He was also an accomplished marksman, avid reader and learned to play guitar as an adult. He loved to share stories of family, friends and adventures.

David was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served as a member of the branch presidency in Keosauqua, IA and stake high council in Nauvoo, IL. He also served as a temple worker with his wife Marilyn Kaye at the Saint Louis, MO temple. He was a dedicated home teacher and quietly tended to those in his care. He truly understood the Savior’s teaching to “Love One Another.”

Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fuquay Varina, NC on December 4 at 1:00. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 12:00.
