Middle name is spelled in some records "Willson." The best indication is that Jacob Wilson ADERHOLD and Nancy ADERHOLD (born ca. 1823, married 18 FEB 1842 in Campbell County, Georgia, to Thomas J. FOSTER) were both the children of Katherine "Katy" ADERHOLD (born ca. 1804 Lincoln County, North Carolina, died after 1850, probably in Georgia), who is not known to have married. Katy is the daughter of John George ADERHOLD & Margareth (HASSELBEGER) ADERHOLD. This theory is bolstered by a comment made by Dr. Joseph Robert HOOD in a 1920 letter to his great-granddaughter that details information about her ancestors in the ADERHOLD and BAILEY families. It has been speculated that perhaps Jacob Wilson's father was named Jacob WILSON, but this is purely conjecture. Testing of the Y-chromosome of a direct-male descendant might have helped to resolve this question, but alas! the last direct-male descendant of Jacob Wilson, John Benjamin ADERHOLD, passed away in 2011 without having been tested.

Married 01 JUN 1848 in Bibb County, Georgia, to Harriet Jane WAGNON (not WAGNER), by who he had at least three children. Married second on 08 SEP 1885 in Orange County, Florida, to Mary Josephine CROSS, by whom he had at least four children.
Civil War Army Officer. Lieutentant Colonel of the 36th Georgia Volunteer Infantry
