Wanda Joyce Nunn Stover, longtime resident of Mangum, Oklahoma, passed away on October 27 at the Mangum City Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Wanda was born to Claude Fred Nunn and Florene Marie Doherty Nunn in Mangum Oklahoma on June 14, 1929.

Wanda's father passed away when she was 3 years old and her mother later married Doyle Adams. Wanda had a brother, Claudie Nunn and a sister, Shirley Adams. Wanda grew up in Mangum, Oklahoma and lettered in basketball in high school. Wanda graduated from Mangum High School as a proud member of the class of 1947.

Wanda married Pete Stover on November 2, 1947 and they were married for nearly 65 years until Pete's death on June 18, 2012. Pete and Wanda had four children, Diana, Donald, Ray, and Gwen with Donald passing away at birth. They lived in Corpus Christi, TX for a few years and returned to Mangum to raise their family and remained there.

Wanda was employed at Mildred's Flowers, Bell Telephone Office, and the First National Bank, and after retiring from the bank, as a bookkeeper with her husband at Pete's Glass and Upholstery. Wanda also had a successful pecan growing business for many years. Wanda was an excellent dancer and she and Pete loved to attend dances and Elks Club activities throughout the country. They could dance the night away and did so well into their later years. Wanda loved to read, watch movies, shopping with her girls, and working in her pecan business. Pete and Wanda also enjoyed camping in their travel trailer at Quartz Mountain as well as their place at Buncombe Creek at Lake Texoma. Wanda was an outstanding cook and made the best hush puppies, turkey and dressing, chocolate pies, and pecan pies.

She loved most of all, being with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister, and great-great grandson. Wanda was a Christian with a strong faith in God, and one of the kindest, most gracious spirits, and always beautiful in every way.
