Rosemary Schaaf,75,died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004,at Christain Hospital Northeast in St.Louis County Missouri. Born in Fieldon on July 30,1929, she was the daughter of Isom Henry and Ada Charlotte (Young) Schaaf. A lifelong resident of Fieldon, she was employed at the International Shoe Factory in Jerseyville and the Fieldon Grade School. She then began operating the Farmers Market in Fieldon alongside Warren Fester. The two maintained a loving companionship for 30 years before his death on Dec. 25, 2002. She is survived by her only living sister, Hazel Thompson of Kane; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her companion, Warren, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Henry,Julius "Dude" and Fred Schaaf; and her four sisters, Sophia Miller, Dorothy Mitchell, Alberta Evans and Lelia "Marge" Dilks. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where the Rev.Randy Cartwright will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday.
