"Following the Revolutionary War, Solomon Garfield, the great Grandfather of President James J. Garfield, came with his family from the New England area to settle in Worcester on the West Hill Farm. Solomon was buried in the local cemetery, later known as the "Garfield Plot." Thomas maybe buried in the Garfield Plot also.
" This old yard at the corner of Decatur Street is being moved. Decatur Street is being straightened and part of the old cemetery is being removed, with what bone etc that could be found being reburied in Maple Grove. Many markers were lost or destroyed."
