December 15, 1943 ~ November 24, 2019 (age 75) Mr. Virgil Melvin Brock Jr., age 75, of Brodhead, KY, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY.
Melvin was born on December 15, 1943 in Mt. Vernon, KY to the late Rev. Virgil and Rissie Overbay Brock. He married Helen Frith on January 19, 1974. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, worked at Rockcastle Regional Hospital for 20 years as a Bio-Med Engineer, was of the Holiness Faith, enjoyed working with computers, motorcycles, horses, and archery, was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the NRA.
Those left to celebrate his life are his wife: Helen Brock; two sons: Chad (Diane) Brock of Louisville, KY, Eric (Katina) Brock of Renfro Valley, KY; four grandchildren: Chazwick Brock, Logan Brock McDermott, Azlan Brock, and Sully Brock; two great-grandchildren: Kiera Brock and Charlie Joan Brock; one brother: Doug (Judy) Brock of Mt. Vernon, KY; one brother-in-law: Dallas Severance of Brodhead, KY; four sisters: Barbara (Audy) Falkner of Copper Creek, KY, Phyllis Benge of Mt. Vernon, KY, Linda (Danny) Knox of Mt. Vernon, KY, and Gloria Brock of Hamilton, OH.
Besides his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by one sister: Shelia Severance; one brother-in-law: Reggie Benge; and his first wife: Joan Belcher Brock.
Visitation for Mr. Virgil Melvin Brock Jr. will be Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 6-9pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 2pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Eugene Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Maretburg Cemetery.
