Obituary The Herald, Carbon, Eastland County, Texas, dated October 27,1905: MRS. LIZZIE BISHOP DEAD - Mrs. Lizzie Bishop, wife of A.S. Bishop, died Sunday afternoon after several weeks of severe illness. She was a noble Christian woman and leaves a number of relatives and a host of friends
to mourn their loss. Her remains were laid to rest in the Carbon Cemetery Monday afternoon. The funeral service was conducted by Reverend C.E. Statham.

Lizzie is rite poorly for 2 or 3 days. She has been improving of late some. Finley is getting long fine going to school and learning fast as I ever saw. I wish you could hear him spell read and go over his arithmetic and geography and is delighted in going to school. I am getting along the same as ever. I am carpentering and rented
my place out. I have got no news to write you. Everybody is well as for as I know only some that is poorly like Lizzie is and that is bad enough for anybody. Sometimes it looks like she will be well soon and again it seems like it is slow but she is improving some. We are so anxious makes
it seem slower. I would love to see you all and talk some. I got a letter from Ira the other day. He has joined the Army and is at Ft. Ringold in Starr County. I am very sorry to hear he had done it. I have
