William H. "Bill" Birch was born to Eugene Victor Birch and Gertie Lena Birch in Okemah, Oklahoma on Feb. 1, 1927. They moved to Chowchilla when Bill was 10 years old. He attended Chowchilla Schools and joined the Army in 1945 during WWll. He served 2 years in Japan. After his service, he was a barber in Chowchilla for many years before moving to Salinas where he again had his own barber shop, was a real estate salesman, and, during that time, attended Hartnell Jr. College. He was predeceased in death by his parents, son Victor Odell, sister Mallie Van Curen, twin sisters Faye Pressley and Raye Wade, brothers Carl and Robert "Bob" Birch. Bill leaves his wife Evelyn Muse Birch, son Garry Birch, daughters Cherie Irwin and Susie Lupinetti; grand daughters, Chastity Burke, Francesca Hensen, Tory Lunpinetti, Davee Birch and Victoria Birch; great granddaughter Ella Burke and great grand son Patrick Hensen. Bill went to be with God and the Angels on March 25 from the Post Acute Veterans facility in Sacramento at age 90 years and 53 days. The service will be Monday April 3 at the Chowchilla District Cemetery
