Jane Ann Maus, 82, Fort Lauderdale, died Friday, September 19, 2014, at her summer home on Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. She was born April 4, 1932, in Oak Park, Illinois, to parents Arthur J. and Mildred Dowdall Bidwill. She was a graduate of Trinity High School in 1950. She attended Barry College and Rosary College. Jane married William H. Maus Jr. on May 1, 1954, in River Forest, Illinois. Early in her life, she was a stewardess for American Airlines, and for 25 years she was the co-owner and operator of a retail business called Country Collection in Fort Lauderdale. Jane was a housewife and homemaker for her husband and seven children and found time to be involved in numerous community activities. Jane was involved in the Junior League of Fort Lauderdale and a lifelong supporter of Catholic education. In her free time, she enjoyed relaxing with her children, grandchildren, golf, quilting and painting. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William; their children, William H. (Vida) Maus III; Arthur J. (Karen) Maus; Francis J. (Terry) Maus; Elizabeth A. Maus; Edward D. Maus; James P. (Michelle) Maus, all of Fort Lauderdale; and Daniel E. (Mary) Maus, Fontana, Wisconsin; a brother, the Rev. Joseph E. Bidwill, O.P.; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Neal M. Bidwill. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Anthony Church at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 30. On Monday September 29th, the day before, the family will receive friends at Coral Ridge Country Club from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Saint Anthony Church is located at 900 NE 3rd Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. Coral Ridge Country Club is located at 3801 Bayview Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33308 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anthony Catholic School and/or St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School, both of Fort Lauderdale.
