Verne William Loschen, age 76, of Lincoln, Nebraska died Thursday, August 21, 2003 at his home. Prayer service will be at 4:30 PM Sunday, with the Reverend William Runaas officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Franklin, Nebraska. Visitation will be until 9 PM today from 9 AM to 9 PM Saturday and from 9 AM to 2 PM Sunday at Butherus- Maser and Love Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation is also planned from 3 PM to 5 PM Sunday at the church in Lincoln. He was born on July 20, 1927 in Malcolm, Nebraska to Foka and Maude (Getchell) Loschen. He married Jennie Lee Schriner. He retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service. He was a groundskeeper at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln and also at Minden Public Schools. They lived in Minden until they moved to Harlan County Reservoir. They later moved to Lincoln. He had been a member of Bethany Church in Minden, Peace Lutheran Church in Alma, and United Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
