YORK Rachel M. (Crumling) Ruby, 95, entered into rest after a brief illness at 10:24 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at The Brunswick at Longstown. She was the wife of William C. Ruby who entered into rest on September 14, 2005. Born January 6, 1912, in Lower Windsor Township, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Lydia (Leber) Crumling. Mrs. Ruby was a seamstress at the former Jayson Shirt Factory in York and then at the Kingswear, Inc. in York where she retired from. She was a volunteer for many years at the Yorkana Fire Company, after her retirement she continued to do seamstress work to help family and friends whenever she could. She was a life member of Canadochly Evangelical Reformed Church, which she joined at the age of 13. She was also a teacher and superintendent of the Children's department at the church. Mrs. Ruby is survived by a son, Donald L. Ruby of Hellam and his wife Barbara; three daughters, Delores M. Gust of York, Patricia A. Bigler of York and husband Arthur and Cindy R. Paules of Hellam; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; three step great-greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, June Marie Ruby, who entered into rest in 1931; three brothers; and seven sisters. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Canadochly Evangelical Reformed Church, 4845 East Prospect Road, York. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with her pastor, the Rev. William H. Baral assisted by Father Barry E. Yingling, Chaplain of The Brunswick at Longstown officiating. Burial will be in Canadochly Cemetery. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother who always had a positive influence upon everyone in her family.
