He was born on October 2, 1940; the son of Worth Hagen and Margaret Christina (Larsen) Bingaman. Rex graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1958.
He married Carol Kay Miller on January 5, 1963 in Omaha, Nebraska, she preceded him in death on February 17, 2016.
Rex worked as a switchman for Illinois Central Railroad until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by his wife; and a daughter, Karen South.
