Resident of Broward for 33 years. Born in London, England December 20, 1897.
Although not yet a citizen he enlisted in the Army; fought in all six major campaigns of WW I, earning Silver Star, Purple Heart, General John Pershing and other medals. Eighty One survivors of Co. D. 9th Battalion contributed money and formed the Last Man Club, whoever was the last man should receive the money; and he was the "Last Man".
Survived by nieces, -Shirley Stout, Plantation, Betty Williams, -Tallahassee and Marjorie Fiorenza, Carmel, CA; 6 great nieces; and 3 great nephews.
Note: on November 1, 1926, he married Anna Josephine Hilda Hunold, daughter of Joseph and Josephine Kiaffner Hunold. Hilda was born in Alsace-Lorraine on 20 Feb 1898 and died in Broward County, Florida on 19 Aug 1985.
