Mrs. Willie Estelle Dameron, 63, of Route 2, Afton, was dead on arrival at Waynesboro Community Hospital at 11:15 a.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Dameron was a former employee of Morton Frozen Foods of Crozet.
She was born in Afton May 9, 1909, a daughter of the late John William and Fannie Davis Gray.
She is survived by her husband, Clifton M. Dameron Jr.; seven sons, Junior Dameron of Charlottesville, Lewis E. Dameron, with the U. S. Air Force in Stuttgart, Germany, James D. Dameron of Lynchburg, Roger L. Dameron of Bumpass, Paul D. Dameron of Crimora, Jerry D. Dameron of Waynesboro and Robert W. Dameron of Afton; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley D. Wingfield, Mrs. Delores D. Lawhorne and Mrs. Judy D. Fitzgerald, all of Afton; three brothers, Gordon W. Gray of Woodbridge, Robert H. Gray of Meadows of Dan and Lewis F. Gray of Joplin, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Hildebrand of Fishersville, Mrs. Ida Damron of Afton and Mrs. Mary H. Frank of Staunton; also 11 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Etter Funeral Home, conducted by Clyde Dalton of Lynchburg, with burial in the Rodes United Methodist Church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Garnett Hogan, Coy Anderson, John Anderson Jr., Donald Gray, William Keith and Clifton Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Willis, Richard Roberts, Jimmy Pugh, Glenn Pugh, Edward Miller and Walter Caton.
